Salvador dali

Funeral Blues
Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Preven the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffed drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.
Let the aeroplanes circle abouve moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message He Is Dead
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen weare black cotton gloves.
He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk my songs;
I taught that love would last forever: I was wrong.
The stars are not wanted now; put out every one;
Pack up the moon and dismentle the sun;
Pour away the oceans and sweep up the woods;
For nothing now can ever come to any good.
W. H. Auden

"The Happiest Day"
I
The happiest day - the happiest hour
My scared and blighted heart hath known,
The highest hope of pride and power,
I feel hath flown.
II
Of power! Sad I? Yes! Such I ween
But they have venished long, alas!
The vision of my youth have been -
But let them pass.
III
And pride, what have I known with thee?
Another brow my ev'n inherit
The venom thou hast pourd on me -
Be still my spirit!
IV
The happiest day - the happiest hour
mine eyes shall see - have ever seen
The brightest glace of pride and power
I feel have been.
V
But where that hope of pride and power
Now offered with the pain
Ev'n then I felt - that brightest hour
I would not live again.
VI
For on it's wings was dark alloy
And as it flutterd - fell
An essence - powerful to deatroy
A soul that knew it well.

Alone
From childhood's hour I have not been
As others were - I have not seen
As others saw - I could not bring
My passions from a common spring.
From the same source I have not taken
My sorrow; I could not awaken
My heart to joy at the same tone;
And all I lov'd, I loved alone.
Then - in my childhood - in the dawn
Of most stormy life - was drawn
From every depht of good and ill
The mystery which bindes me still:
From the torrent, or the fountain,
From the red cliff of the mountain,
From the sun that 'round me roll'd
In it's autumn tint of gold -
From the lightning in the sky
As it passed me flying by -
From the thounder and the storm,
And the cloud that took the form
(When the rest of Heaven was blue)
Of a demon in my view.

Re: literatura & quotes (citati)
Annabel Lee
It was many and many years ago,
In a kingdom by the sea,
That maiden there lived whom you may know
By the name of ANNABEL LEE;
And this maiden she lived with no other taught
Than to love and be loved by me.
I was a child and she was a child,
In this kingdom by the sea:
But we loved with a love that was more than a love -
I and my ANNABEL LEE;
With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven
Conveted her and me.
And this was the reason that, long ago,
In this kingdom by the sea,
A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling
My beautiful ANNABEL LEE;
So that her high-born kinsman came
And bore her away from me,
To shut her up in a sepulchare
In this kingdom by the sea.
The angels, not half so happy in heaven,
Went down envying her and me -
Yes! - That was the reason (as all men know,
In this kingdom by the sea)
That the wind came out of a cloud at night,
Chilling and killing my ANNABEL LEE.
But the love it was stronger by far than the love
Of those who were older than we -
Of many far wiser than we -
And neither the angels in heaven above,
Nor demons down under the sea,
Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
Of the beautiful ANNABEL LEE,
For the moon never beams, without bringing me dreams
Of the beautiful ANNABEL LEE;
And the stars never rise, but I see the bright eyes
Of the beautiful ANNABEL LEE;
And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
Of my darling - my darliing - my life and my bride,
In the sepulchare there by the sea,
In her tomb by the sounding sea.

A Dream Within a Dream
Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow -
You are not wrong who deem,
That my days have been a dream;
Yet, if hope has flown away
In a night or in a day,
In a vision or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.
I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tourmented shore,
And I hold within my heand
Grains of golden send -
How few! Yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep - while I weep!
Oh god! Can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
Oh God! Can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dram within a dream?

Re: literatura & quotes (citati)
A Paen
I
How shall the butial rite be read?
The solemn song be sung?
The requiem for the lovilest dead,
That ever died so young?
II
Her friends are gazing on her,
And on her gaudy bier,
And weep! - oh! To dishonor
Dead beauty with a tear!
III
They loved her for her wealth-
And they hated her for her pride -
But she grew in feeble health,
And they love her - that she died
IV
They tell me (while they speak
Of her "costly broider'd pall")
That my voice is growing week -
That I should not sing at all -
V
Or, that my tone should be
Tun'd to such solemn song
So mournfully - so mournfully,
That the dead may feel no wrong.
VI
But she is gone above,
With young Hope at her side,
And I am drunk with love
Of the dead who is my bride. -
VII
Of the dead - dead who lies
All perfum'd there,
With the death upon her eyes,
And the life upon her hair.
VIII
Thus on the coffin loud and long
I srike - the murmur sent
Throught the great chambers to my song
Shall be the accompaniment.
IX
Thou diedst in thy life's June -
But thou didst not die too fair:
Thou didst not die too soon,
Nor with too calm in air.
X
From more the friends on earth,
Thy life and love are riven,
To join the untained mirth
Of more than thrones in heaven. -
XI
Therefore, to thee this night
I will not requiem rise,
But waft thee on thy flight,
With a paen of old days.

Re: literatura & quotes (citati)
Stance, "in tebe, mlado, lepo stvar"
In tebe, mlado, lepo stvar,
je utrnil smrti dah;
in nežni dih in ves tvoj čar
sta spet pepel in prah.
Čeprav brezbrižno in smeje
mogoče stopajo ljudje
čez tvoj nagrobni mah,
v nekomu vendar ni moči,
da vanj za hip se zastrmi.
Ne bom povprašal kje ležiš
in ne na grom strmel;
ni mar mi če obrašča križ
ti cvetje, če plevel.
Dovolj je že zavest, da to,
kar v meni dolgo živo bo,
lahko sprhni v pepel.
Ni treba malomarnih prič
v dokaz, da si razpadla v nič.
Do zadnjega, kot mene ti,
sem zvesto ljubil te.
Izdala nisi me vse dni,
zdaj več ne moreš me:
ko smrt pritisne svoj pečat,
ne čas, ne tekmec, ne razvrat
ljubezni ne razdre;
in grob ti zreti zdaj ne da
ne nezvestobe in ne zla.
Bila sva skupaj v srečnih dneh
v dneh muk bom sam ostal;
ne, tebi več ne bo v očeh
ne smeh, ne jok sijal.
A, glej, solza na lica ni --
preveč tvoj mir zavidam ti.
In vedi, ni mi žal,
da v hipu sem izgubil to,
kar v dolgih mukah bi lahko.
Najlepše razcveteni cvet
med prvimi odmre:
čeprav ne pade koscu v red,
se vendarle ospe;
a huje zreti je očem,
če moč mu peša dan za dnem,
kot če pod koso umre --
saj lepo, ki svoj čar gubi,
lahko samo bolest rodi.
Ne vem, če tak pogled očem
ne vzel bi luč sveta,
saj temna noč za takim dnem,
še globja bi bila;
tvoj dan prišel je brez meglic
in ljubkost tvojih zorih lic
ni upadla -- le prešla;
kot zvezda, ki najbolj žari,
ko se utrinja v grob noči.
Oh, jokal bi, kakor nekoč,
če solze bi imel,
ker nisem ti vsaj eno noč
ob vzglavju prebedel,
ker nisem v dno oči ti zrl,
ker nisem glave ti podprl
ter to tako izkazal to,
kar zdaj je za oba prešlo.
A manjša slast, glej, bi bila
če bi dobil prav vse,
kar svet še lepega ima,
kot če spomin zazre
se v tvoje neugasljive oči,
ki me ljubkujejo vse dni
iz večnosti teme:
saj njih sijaj bi dražji bil
lahko samo, če bil bi živ.

Narcis in Echo
V zraku čutim čudežni zvenenje venenje
kdo toži z glasom tihim kakor svila vila
zakleta v odmeve in lebdenje bdenje
Vseeno; voda je tako brezdanja zdanja
da ulovi lesket vseh noči oči
le kaj se na gladini zaiskri kri
zrcalna slika do neba prostrana rana
Bolj kot vsaka druga resnična nična
ta moja koža bela roža snežna nežna
in usta sama sebi neizbežna bežna
in moja večna postelja bo struga truga
kako le sebe samega ljubiti ubiti
kako brez ljubljenega jaza biti iti

Sonnet 18 English version
Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date:
Sometimes too hot the eye of heaven shines,
and often is his gold complexion dimm'd;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance or natures changing course untrimm'd;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade
Nor lose possesion of that fair thou ow'st;
Nor shall deathy brag thou wond'rest in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou grow'st:
So long as men can breathe and eyes can see,
So long lives this and this gives life to tee.
William Shakespeare
sonet št. 18 Slovenska verzija
Te naj primerjam mar s poletnim dnem?
Ti manj minljiv si in bolj poln miline:
cvetove majske strl vetrov objem
in preden se zavedaš, poletje mine;
oko neba prevroče včasih sveti;
a včasih si z meglo zastre onraz -
lepotam vsem je sojeno umreti:
slučaj uniči ene, druge čas.
A ti lepote svoje ne zgubiš,
poletje tvoje nikdar ne konča se!
Ne bo se Smrt bahala, da trohniš,
saj v mojih pesmih raseš v večne čase.
Dokler vid videl bo in dihal dih,
Živele bodo, ti živel boš v njih.
William Shakespeare

Charles Boudelaire

The body
The most important things are the hardest things to say. They are the things you get ashamed of, becouse words make them smaller. When they were in your head they were limitless; but when they come out they sim to be no bigger than normal things. But that's not all. The most important things lie too close to wherever your sevret heart is burried; they are the clues that could guide your enemies to a prize they would love to steal. It's hard and painful for you to tlak about those things... And then people just look at you strangely. They haven't understood what you've said at all, or why you almost cried while you were saying it.

Pesem
Če roka v roki obleži
in mi jo stisneš malo bolj
kot drugim, v meni vse vzdrhti;
ta stist roke mi je dovolj.
Če greš mi s prsti skoz lase,
mi v hrbtenici gomazi;
a roka ki skoz kodre gre,
ničesar ne izpremeni:
ne ljubin te ne bolj ne manj,
brez vsega ljubim te dovolj;
le iz želja se sanja sanj
resničnost zgane malo bolj.
Lahko daš več, lahko daš vse;
in veš, kaj v meni koprni ...
A vedi, draga, tudi vse
ničesar ne izpremeni.
Zato nakloni mi le to,
kar narekuje ti srce,
saj meni je dovolj lepo,
če si podava le roke.

Stara pesem
Ti ljubi druge, jaz bom tebe ljubil,
Ti ljubi druge, jaz bom tebe ljubil,
in ti želel nezvestega moža,
da ti bi njega, on spet drugo ljubil,
in bi še ti v ljubezni mlin zašla.
Ti ljubi njega, jaz bom tebe ljubil,
in tvoj preljubi drugo, ti pa glej,
da tudi on bo tisto drugo izgubil --
in svet se bo vrtel lepo naprej.
Janez Menart

Pred grobnico Viktorja Hugoja
Kjer sem doma, živita dva milijona;
ne mogel bi, kot ti, postati večen;
ne bom dejal, da tega ni mi mar,
pa tudi ne, da sem zato nesrečen.
Usoda pač vpisuje čas in kraj,
ko nas priglaša na volilno listo;
in tisto, kar storita, žal ni isto.
ti mirno spi, jaz pa bom že kako.

Kritična metoda
Dejal bi DA a rečem NE,
a NE ni DA in DA ni NE,
če DA bi NE bil, del bi DA,
a ker ni DA DE, rečem NE.
Epigram
Potrdim vaš izrek, gospod,
da vsak poet je idiot;
a vi ste jasen vzgled za svet,
da ni vsak idiot poet.
Napis na pasjem ovratniku
Jaz sem vaš pes, povejte mi,
čigav pesek ste vi.

"Ljubi moj Sputnik"
Ponavljamo, pogosto zelo spretno, neskončna vsakdanja opravila. In puščamo za seboj občutek neizmerne praznine.

Sonet 130 English version
My mistress eyes are nothing like the sun;
Coral is far more red than her lips' red;
If snow be white, why then her breasts are dune;
If hair be wires, black wires grow on her head.
I have seen roses damask'd, red and white,
But no such roses see I in her cheeks;
And in some perfumes is there more delight
Than in the breath that from my mistress reeks;
I love to hear her speak - yet well I know
That music hath a far more pleasing sound;
I grant I never saw a Goddess go,-
My mistress, when she walks treads on the ground;
And yet, by heav'n, I think my love as rare
As any she belied with false compare.
William Shakespeare
Sonet št. 130 Slovenska verzija
Ne, ona nima žametnih oči,
in niti kodrov mehkih kakor svila;
če sneg je bal, ga v njenih nedrih ni;
sem videl že rože, bele in rdeče -
na njenih licih take ne cveto;
in so dišave mnogo bolj dehteče
kot vonj, ki veje njeno ga telo;
njen glas poslušam rad, četudi vem,
da zvoku strun prijetneje zvene;
kako boginje hodijo ne vem,
ko ona hodi, stopa kot ljudje;
in vendar se mi zdi bolj očarljive
kot vse, ki pesem jih slavi lažnjiva.
